Does verizon allow unlocked iPhones 6ses on its network with an existing SIM?

I really have 2 questions that are related.

I have a friend who wants to use an existing sim and Verizon service on a new unlocked iPhone 6se he bought from Amazon.

Will Verizon allow this phone on the network or must they re-lock it somehow?

If it must be locked to participate, how do I do that?

You will need to verify the device is compatible with the Verizon Wireless network. You can enter the IMEI number here to find out. Bring Your Own Phone or Device - BYOD | Verizon Wireless
