Is there a way to set my phone or have Verizon sound an alarm if my wifi drops out and my phone starts using cellular data? I have an iPhone 6. I am almost always at home where I should be on our network all the time, and when I go out it is usually to regular places that have wifi which my phone should automatically connect to, but my data usage is showing much higher than normal cellular data use. Can Verizon arbitrarily disconnect me from wifi to use my data? I know I can see the icon on my screen showing whether or not I have wifi, but if I don't know to check it because I shouldn't have any reason to do so, I won't notice.
Turn off Wi-Fi Assist.
You can also turn off the cellular data if you expect to be connected to a wifi router for extended periods of time.
I'm most definitely NOT a VZW employee. If a post answered your question, please mark it as the answer.
