As of today my computer will no longer forward an email as a text to my iPhone 6. I have been able to this for a very long time. My computer is getting a Mail Delivery System error message:
This message was created automatically by mail delivery software.
A message that you sent could not be delivered to one or more of its
recipients. This is a permanent error. The following address(es) failed:
my vz cell number@vzwpix.com
host smtp.vzwpix.com [69.78.67.55]
SMTP error from remote mail server after initial connection:
Help, I loved getting a text notification of important emails.

I know how important email is. Let's fix this. Have you made any changes to your email account? What program are you using to send these texts to your phone? Have you tried setting up your email account directly on your phone http://vz.to/1hDbEhC for exchange or http://vz.to/1Lwohrw for pop/imap?

I am using MacMail 6.6. I haven't changed any email settings to the account I have been forwarding to my iPhone as a text message/alert so to speak. I have been using it this way for some time with the iPhone 6 and before that the iPhone 4. It is set up as a POP account.
I have this account set up on my phone so that if a text alert comes in, I can check email.
Thx, tbo27, I will try that variation instead.
