My iPhone 6 shut off yesterday by itself and now it won't turn back on. When it first shut off on its own it was at 70% battery life so it wasn't a problem with the battery. When I tried to turn it back on it wouldn't do anything until I plugged it in to the charger. Upon plugging it in the screen turned white and a black apple icon came up. The first few times it did this it would start glitching and shut off and turn back on really fast. Then when the home screen finally did pull back up I was only able to use my phone for about 30 minutes and it shut off again. This time I decided to connect it to my iTunes to see if that would correct the problem. Obviously it did not iTunes tried to do a restore on my phone but was not ablate because I cannot enter in the password because the screen is completely black with what looks like to be a light behind it but it will not do anything else at this point. I have no idea what i need to do to correct this problem. If someone could give me some feed back I would really appreciate it.
aalane - having a properly working device is paramount. I'm here to assist. Since your device isn't allowing you to enter in the password, you would want to place it into recovery mode in order to bypass that password and perform the device restore. You can place that device into recovery mode as follows: http://apple.co/1H14Ge6. Once that restore has been completed, you can add your backed up content from iCloud or iTunes using these steps: http://apple.co/1Oxcgmp

Restore did not help. My phone still has a black screen. But under the black screen there looks like it is lit up. It will not go any further and itunes popped up with an error message. I'm not sure what I can do now is there any other information that could help?
I regret the delay as we want to see you back up and running quickly. Does the phone show any physical or liquid damage? When was it originally purchased? Please attempt a reset on the device by holding the Power and Home keys for longer than 10 seconds.

aalane, this might be a long shot, but at this point perhaps worth a try, removing and reseating the sim card.
I have an iPhone but I also have a Droid Maxx. The Droid Maxx would randomly turn itself off then restart on it's own.
Then somewhere I had read about reseating the sim card and it seems to have resolved it. Over time the Droid Maxx had been dropped and cracked screens so apparently the sim card had become dislodged.
