My daughters Iphone6 just died. It wasn't recognized by itunes, absolutely nothing. I chatted with apple support who will replace her phone. They asked me to sign into Icloud and disable the find my phone lock. Her phone didn't show up. All of the devices we have are on my account, so I knew something was wrong. The apple guy said the phone was registered in china. We live in Miami, so that was also a problem. Apple had me send them the receipt for the phone (it was purchased new from Verizon and has been in our possession since). They are working to remove the block, but now I'm wondering how the phone ended up registered in China, and what information would a person who had her phone set up with find my phone on their cloud have. Have they been able to see exactly where she is and where she goes? If they put the FMP lock on the phone, are they still able to track her?
NSB46 You raise some very real concerns. I have a daughter also and I can understand the need for answers, especially when it comes to the tracking. It is great that Apple is working with you on this issue. As the registry and the Find My iPhone system are proprietary to Apple, we would suggest that you reach out to them about these issues. If you have any questions on the Verizon side please do not hesitate to reach out to us. Hope this issues are resolved as soon as possible.
