Like Weth said (and I mentioned) take the SIM card out. Power your phone off first. Remove the SIM card. Put it back in. Power the phone back on. Clearly, Verizon DID set up the phone correctly so you can't be upset with them about that. The phone was working at some point. You need to power off your old iPhone also. As long as it's settings match your new iPhone and they are using the same Apple ID then it will likely ring at the same time as your 6+. You would need to adjust settings to change that but right now you can just power it off.
