Golferdawn, I want to make sure that we check out the data usage on the phone. I want to make sure that you have more than enough data each month. If you go into Settings, Cellular, scroll to the bottom and make sure that Wi-Fi Assist is turned off. With Wi-Fi on, it will automtically use cellular data when Wi-Fi connectivity is poor. Please keep us posted.

My Verizon is very accurate at showing the amount of data the iPhone is using and repeatedly remind you when that level is reached and when you will go over your plan limit. So how's this happening?I have the iPhone 6s plus and it has great capabilities. Only you know the data, what's going on with it?
I am having the same trouble. This morning I turned off data for everything I could do without for a day, and as I was listening to a playlist, I got a "Cellular data is turned off for Music" pop up. GRRRRRRRR.
I think I found the data suck: a setting in either the music app or iTunes that automatically streams music from the cloud (which are ALL duplicates in my library, double GRRRR).
Hope this helps!
I went to the Apple store and the tech told me having the locator on was causing me the problem but after he turned off the locator function it still used huge amounts of data ( like 3.85 gig in one day when I had only sent two text messages and done nothing else).
Thanks for all your help, but this does not good for someone who does not know what you're talking about. I want Verizon to tell me what drives MY usage, then correct it.
