I am having a plethora of problems with my iPhone 6. I first noticed back in February, after an iOS update, that my GPS stopped working. I would enter a destination, it would give me my starting location, then would not update or track my progress. So essentially, I got the first direction, but then nothing else. Not exactly useful. This same problem persisted across Apple Maps, Google Maps, and Waze. The problem obviously had to do with location services. I've tried every possible fix for this, including resetting all location settings multiple times, total system reboot, with no change. I haven't been able to use GPS now in 6+ months.
Then, a few months ago, my wi-fi signal started dropping. When I would enter my house, the wi-fi would not pick up. I can manually enter all the wi-fi settings (name, security, passcode), and it will pick up. It will drop it shortly thereafter. I have to re-enter these settings about 100 times a day (about the most annoying thing I can think of). My husband, on an iPhone 6S, does not have this problem. I can put our phones side by side and I have 1 bar; he has 4. My home wi-fi essentially won't work anywhere in my house. When we are out at places with known wi-fi networks, they don't show up, or I can connect, then it drops it after a minute or so. The additional consequence of this is that my phone is using an obscene amount of data, as it is always on LTE, 1x, and frequently, 3G (what on earth is going on with Verizon's coverage??)
I've called Verizon countless times to discuss the issue with them. The response I get is "the phone is out of warranty and I'll need to buy a new one." I don't think so. I bought a 128 gig iPhone to the tune of like $600. It's only 2 years old and in pristine condition. I don't drop my phone, I've never gotten it wet, never cracked the screen. The Verizon rep told me it is clearly an internal hardware issue, as no iOS updates or reboots can solve my problem. I refuse to be blackmailed into spending another $600!
Since this is not a problem that I caused, and is a hardware issue, shouldn't I be able to trade my defective phone in for a refurbished, same model phone? What is Verizon's responsibility in this situation? Telling me I need to buy a new $600 phone is absurd!

No one likes when their phone has multiple issues like this. It does sound as if you've already done the troubleshooting through our tech specialists over the phone. The warranty on an iPhone lasts one year. If your phone is two years, unless you have an extended warranty feature through Asurion, it does not matter what the damage or malfunction is, unfortunately. At that point, you are looking at an upgrade to replace the device. Since most of it does sound like it may be a software issue, have you tried a full restore through iTunes yet? I have the same issue.
Ever since they've had an update the operating system, my GPS has been working properly.
I have followed all the tutorials and I am smoking a technical support. I have tested it out after going through the steps and it still will not work.
Since I have the Total Mobile Protection Multi-Device, would I Bable to get my phone replaced since it is not working properly and my phone is covered under the protection plan?

Yes, I've tried a full restore (multiple times). That did nothing. It seems to me that Verizon should offer a trade-in for a refurbished, same-model phone if the issue is a software or hardware issue that is not the fault of the user. How is Verizon not liable for fixing this issue? Buying a new phone is not an answer I'm willing to accept.

Wireless carriers are liable to correct issues with their products, like the networks they build per the customer contract/agreement. Similarly, device manufacturers are liable to correct issues with their products, like the phones they make per the warranty provisions. While all manufacturers will warranty their products for one year. With Apple if you did purchase their Applecare coverage you can double the warranty period to 2 years.
Verizon does offer extra equipment replacement options though if you had purchased their 'Total Equipment Coverage/Extended warranty feature. You may want to consider purchasing extra coverage in the future if you prefer longer warranty periods.
If you prefer to keep the same phone but save some money the tech employees at the Apple store could check it out for you to see what may be done for a repair as well as advise you of any of their out of warranty repair costs which would be less than the cost of buying a new one.
We completely understand your concerns regarding your phone. I would feel the same way as well regarding my phone. With regard to the device once it is out of the warranty period we would not be able to replace the device under this option. My Samsung Galaxy Prime phone's Google Map app stopped working and also wi-fi networks also. I am switching my spectrum services in my home to AT&T but I wanted to keep my 2015 verizon cell phone. My Google Map stopped working and no longer talks to me as I drive! Phone gets really hot and needs charging often. I was told I qualify for a free phone but can only get iPhone 6.
I love my my Samsung Galaxy Prime phone but it doesn't work and the iPhone 6s have a bad reputation. What other carrier do you want me to switch to?
