It shows all purchased music but no ringtones
I connected to iTunes and under my device,
I can see the ringtones under "Tones".
However they did not backup to the computer.
I did a manual back up .
I can see them all under Purchased
on the computer in iTunes.
As soon as I turn my phone off , they will all be
Gone again.
And your previous link opens but the first link after
That says the link doesn't exist anymore.

I plugged the phone into my computer while I have ITunes
Open. The Ringtones show up under Tones under
My device (phone). I did a backup to the computer
Manually but the ringtones are not there.
When I open the Tones area on the PC in ITunes
There are none there.
I looked under Music and they are also not there
On PC.
I downloaded the ringtones from ITunes on my
Phone before I did the backup again.
I suspect if I turn the phone off I would loose the
ringtones again.

Quick question. Did you turn on sync on the device for music?
Sync your iPhone, iPad and iPod with iTunes using USB - Apple Support
The second link should have worked it was a Verizon community post. Strange.
I think the link above will fix your issue. Or I will keep trying

I had to open Itunes, plug in the phone, then download the ringtones again using my phone to download them. This makes about the 7th time for the downloads.
Under the my device, I could see the ringtones, some multiple times , all of them were checked. Some were grayed out like they were there but not really there.
Under the computer settings the Tones area was still blank after syncing. I had to click on the second option, instead of All tones, to see the ones I did get to finally cross over to Itunes.
So , I unplugged the phone and went to bed and my tones were on the phone the next morning. So I was optimistic because that had not been happening.
HOWEVER, I turned the phone off and back on and now all the ringtones are gone from it again. Why doesn't it save them ? I am turning it off by clicking the button on top right . Then sliding the button to off.

You have to have sync turned on in the phone. Is it on for music, tones, contacts, calendars, mail, photos etc.?
That has to be on.
I will keep looking. However I use two separate iphones and I do not have this issue.
Very strange indeed.

Ringtones on Apple iOS devices work best from Apples App Store. Buy them from there.
Did you read my replies above? Evidently not.
You can also make your own ringtones via iTunes. I have given easy links for that.
purchasing ringtones from Verizon is foolish in costs and ease of use. ringtones from Verizon on a iPhone expire after a few uses. They are not compatible.
Good Luck
