transferring old emails

Am I doing something wrong if I can't transfer my old emails over to my new phone.  I realize I'm a little outdated.  5s to 6s.  Also, my text messages disappear after a few days.

Congratulations on your new phone, lythel. It's important to be able to transfer your content and keep all of your messages. Let's figure out what's going on. Typically, email messages are transferred over by signing in to the email account on the phone so to clarify, what happens when you try transferring the emails? Which text messages(iMessages, regular texts, current, old, etc.) are disappearing from the phone?

Re: transferring old emails

your emails should be available when you create the account on the new phone, with gmail, yahoo, etc, unless you're using a different 3rd party email.
