I Feel your pain. I'm in the same boat. Both my iPhone pluses are scheduled to "ship" on 10/10. I also edged up. I ordered on 9/12. Verizon hasn't updated my order in almost a week. I'm very frustrated. I've NEVER had to wait this long for a preordered iphone. It has always been delivered on or before the release date! Poor planning on Verizon and apple's part. Verizon should be compensating us in some way...

How should they compensate you? You ordered a phone and will get it. Your shipping/delivery date are estimates, and I'm fairly sure there is no way for Verizon (or Apple, for that matter) to materialize an out-of-stock phone from nowhere. You just have to wait, and have patience.

Thank you for your reply. I should have stated a little more. If buying an iPhone 6 (4G) at full price, can it be used to replace an iPhone 4 (3G) and keep the unlimited data plan. I was told that it would not if I went from a 3G device to a 4G device. True?

If you pay full price for the new phone, you can keep your unlimited data. 3G/4G doesn't matter. Just be very sure when you activate your phone the data plan stays intact. If it doesn't, you only have 14 days to request the unlimited back, and they seem to be trying very hard to get those plans away from people. I always check online a few times in the first couple weeks after a change...maybe that is cynical but I don't trust these systems. In any case, hope tou enjoy your new phone! My son wants the iPhone 6, but he is 14 so it's a 5C or a 5S for him! 🙂

Sorry, but no where during the order process was the date referred to as an estimate. If it was, I certainly would have run the other direction. I've ordered from Apple for years, and this was the first time their site took a long time to come up. We decided, might as well give our carrier, Verizon a shot ... it would be the first time not using Apple direct. BIG mistake and never again.
Many of us ordered within the first hour and the status throughout the entire order process remained as "Delivered by 09/19/2014". Plain and simple. Even a tiny asterisk referring to small "this is only an estimate.. blah blah" print would have sufficed.
This dated 9/19 window remain intact, on screen from start to finish. Hours later, many of us received our email confirmations showing new dates between early and mid October.
What Verizon SHOULD have done was warn that it was an "estimated" ship date. Some people said, "oh, this happens every year with Verizon". All the more reason they should get their act together. It's misleading. Period. So yeah, when I see these complaints from many old and new Verizon customers, I don't wonder why they're impatient.
