I am upgrading from an iPhone 5 to a 7. Do I need a new sim card or can I use the one that is in my 5? Also is the iPhone 7 that I get from Verizon unlocked?

The same sim should work as I've been using my same sim from my 5 all the way up to the 6s Plus. The 7 uses the same sim

From what is listed the 7 takes a nano sim so yeah you will need a new one. They can send it to you or it wo in there already to go.
