Why Am I No Longer Getting Internet On My Phone?

my iPhone 7 up until today displayed 3G and I was soooo happy with my phone. as of today it now shows an LTE setting where my 3G was and my service on the internet is basically slow to nothing more than a circling bar. What has happened???
