I visited a Verizon store on the 19th or 20th of this month. I was told by the verizon rep that the $10/mo phone deal was offered until the 24th. I also confirmed this date with a verizon rep over the phone. Verizon had 4 deals I was interested in. $10/mo for iphone 7, $15/mo for iphone 7 plus, $10/mo for galaxy s7, $10/mo for google pixel. As an example the iphone 7 cost about $27.08 per month but Verizon was going to give a $17.08 bill credit per month for 24 months hence the phone would only cost $10/mo. The deal was similar for the other phones. This was supposed to be the BIG GIFT my kids were getting for xmas and because of this I wanted to surprise them. I couldn't purchase the phones on 12/19 or 12/20 because the lines would be transferred and the surprise would be ruined so I was told to come back on the 22nd (that Friday) to purchase the phones. As you are aware Verizon pulled the rug out from under us and without warning pulled the plug on that deal on 12/21!!!! THANKS A LOT VERIZON! MERRY CHRISTMAS TO YOU TOO!! I was relying on that deal and to pull the plug on it without warning is NOT COOL! I'm sure you ruined many Christmases with that [Removed] including mine. Not to mention when I learned of this I called Verizon and the rep blamed the incident on Apple only to learn later that it wasn't Apple's doing, it was VERIZON!!! I was planning on buying 2 iphone 7's, 1 iphone 7 plus and one galaxy s7. I was forced to by 3 iphone 7 pluses for my wife and kids because it was cheaper to buy them than the iphone 7 ($200 credit each once $10/mo deal was gone) otherwise I would have had no presents for my wife and kids. THANKS A LOT! If you want to keep my business I am requesting you credit my bills the difference I lost or send me the phones and deal I wanted to begin with. This is BAD BUSINESS and especially [Removed]to do around the holidays. Your timing couldn't have been any worse. If you don't correct this problem I will be taking my business elsewhere.

ericverizon77 I'm truley sorry to learn of your experience. This is definitely not what we would want for any of our customers. I apologize for the miscommunication as the $10.00 promotion was available through 12/21/16. The only offer that was no longer available was the free phone. It would never be our intention to make your holiday an unhappy one. What store did you go to? I would like to give them a call on your behalf.

You're welcome to call them however there was no miscommunication, the blame falls 100% on Verizon. It's the Verizon store in Wescosville (Allentown) PA however it wasn't there fault. I confirmed that the $10/mo special would run until 12/24 with the store and by calling Verizon directly as well so again there was no miscommunication. I also confirmed with both the store and by calling Verizon directly that the special was supposed to run until 12/24 but Verizon changed the date to 12/21 without warning once they realized that too many people were going for the iphone. Verizon shouldn't offer a deal that they can't honor. People are relying on the information and when you change it without warning it's a crappy thing to do especially just before Christmas. Again, there was no miscommunication, that is why there are other posts on the Verizon community about it and I know from speaking with the verizon store and verizon directly that lots of other people were upset too. The only difference is that I posted my complaint here but I know there were lots of other people with the same complaint.
Eric, I ran into the same exact problem where a Verizon rep in store told me on the 23rd that Apple had removed the iphone from the $10/month offer the day before. I talked to an Apple service representative to try to get more information and they basically told me I was lying about Verizon ever selling iphones at that price. I can't believe a corporation like Verizon would have such poor regard for people trying to take advantage of their advertised deals. Each sales representative Ive talked to (both online and in store) have noted that they are scared to honor these former deals that we had in our carts because of severe reactions by their corporate. Sad to see a business I once thought of as customer friendly focus so much on money and so less about people- especially around the holidays.
Hi Snayh, I'm mostly upset because if Verizon told me (when I asked them on 12/20) that the $10/mo deal for the iphone 7 was going to expire on 12/21 then I would have pulled the trigger on the spot and purchased the phones that day regardless if the surprise was ruined or not but they didn't tell me that. Both the rep in the store and the rep on the phone at Verizon told me the offers would go through 12/24. So I waited till 12/23 to surprise my kids only to find out the Verizon pulled the deal without warning and worse yet the reps I spoke with on the phone blamed apple and said they pulled the plug which wasn't the case. Verizon should honor the deals they advertise especially around the holidays when people need them most.
The exact same thing happened to me. I was going to buy the iPhone 7 for my son as his big Christmas present and was also waiting because I was going to have to transfer service. I verified with Verizon over the phone, read the fine print on their website, and called the store directly- The deal for $10 a month on iPhone 7 was until 12/24/16. Therefore I did not buy the phone then and there because I did not want to ruin the surprise. I spent more than an hour on the phone with Verizon the day they pulled the special trying to figure out what happened and why I couldn't still get the deal. The only answer I got was it was their deal and they could end it anytime they wanted to. This has ruined Christmas- we cannot afford $27.04 per month for a phone for my son. If I had known the sale would end I would have purchased the phone the day I made the calls and found out it ended on the 24th. Thanks a lot Verizon, I am seriously considering switching carriers!
Hi, Krisch62, you're story mirrors mine. Did you happen to save a copy of the fine print that said the deal ended on 12/24? I did not save a copy because I didn't think I had too but now I wish I had. It really did make our Christmas less enjoyable. It was supposed to be the BIG GIFT my kids were getting. It was a lousy thing to do around the holidays. If Verizon would just own up to their mistake and honor those deals they would save face. We're not alone in this complaint. Numerous other people had the same issue. There is another post on verizon community titled "deceptive iphone offers" that complains about the same thing. And we're just the people who were angry enough to go the extra mile and blog about it. There are tons of other people who were unhappy that didn't write about it. I know this because both the salespeople at the Verizon store and verizon reps over the phone all told me the same thing. That the deal was supposed to run until 12/24 (like the S7 and google pixel did) and that tons of people were complaining about it. There was even another customer at the Verizon store complaining about it when I first walked in the doors on 12/22! I hope for your sake and mine and everyone else who got the wool pulled over our eyes that Verizon will make good on their deal. I think if enough people complained they would. P.S. How about honoring the deals you offer Mother Theresa? I'd rather have someone use fowl language with me and keep their word than someone who speaks properly and lies to my face.
I just went to Verizon's website and this offer is still listed. It's in with the "specials" that scroll across the screen when you log onto their website.

The deal now is for $10/mo but with select trade ins however I have 2 of the phones they would have accepted so not only did I miss the initial offer of $10/mo with no trade in I now missed this offer and instead I paid FULL RETAIL for my phones.
