I was told by Verizon to lower the screen brightness and make sure there are no open apps when I use Facetime, Skype or Google Duo. I did that yesterday.
After 20 minutes on one of these platforms, phone becomes overheated, the red thermometer appears, and the phone shuts down.
Any ideas on what I can do?
Is this only occurring with the video chat? How old is the phone? Could the battery have been damaged that you should consider replacing it? If so, you should look at an authorized repair options for Apple phones.
I'm most definitely NOT a VZW employee. If a post answered your question, please mark it as the answer.
Apps like Face Time and Google Duo are helping us stay connected during these unprecedented times. Thanks goes out to Ann154, the questions she asked are top notch. In addition, I'd like to ask if your device's software is up to date. You can check this by going to Settings/General/About: http://spr.ly/6608G9u9y If you're prompted to complete an update, please do so.
