Have you restricted the email application from using the cellular data connection?

That certainly is odd, NOOGIE. We will be sure to make sure you can check your email can be read when you leave the house.
Please make sure your WiFi is turned off. When it is off,
let’s make sure your mobile / cellular data is working
and then try to browse the internet or use an app that requires a data connection, like Facebook, Twitter, etc.
Does that work for you? If not, go to Settings > Cellular >Tap the Cellular Data switch to turn ON and try to fetch new emails. Please let us know if that works for you.
