Phone prices
manzoniforjesus

I really am concerned on the phone prices for all the Verizon phones when trying to upgrade a line.   I have many lines on my account and have been a long time customer with excellent payment history.   When I try to contact Verizon for reasons why the phone prices are so high, I was advised by 2 Verizon Representatives that it is dictated by the manufacturer and Verizon has no control.   This is very bothersome to have phones costing so much each month on top of paying so much for our plans-especially for long time excellent paying customers.  I really am concerned also with the answer that the manufacturers are dictating what to charge for each phone.

Then don't buy flagship phones. Apple has the cheap SE and Google has the Pixel 4a.  Apple's X that lunched at a grand proved people are willing to spend that much. That's on Apple for this trend, not your carrier.

But the problem is these phones that are cheaper are of the older technology base and will become extinct in the near future....or they are pre-owned.   Any of the newer phones (or even medium grade phones) are extremely expensive to pay for-much more expensive even in the last 2 years.  What you are telling me is that the phone manufacturer dictates the prices we as Verizon customers have to pay charged by Verizon.   By your statement, Verizon has no control over these prices and uses the line contact the phone manufacturer.  Do you work for Verizon?

Up until last year my 28yr old son was using a very old samung statosphere 2 with a physical keyboard.  He was convinced he would hate an on screen keyboard.  For Christmas I got him a  Samsung A51 smart phone.  $200 at best buy cash.   He is not into phones.  Does all he needs and he is very happy with it.  Right now that phone is $300 cash or zero on payment plan.  You don't have to spend a lot to get something decent.  I use my phone for everything so like my Samsung note 10 plus with 256GB of storage.   Waited for the right deal at best buy and paid cash for it.  My husband us using an LG G6 I got new for $400 cash there.  Shop around, you don't have to buy directly from verizon.

manzoniforjesus, please know that we truly value you as such a loyal customer! I know how important cost is. I know it can be overwhelming when you have several different phones. As previously mentioned, it really depends on the phone that you want. We also have trade-in promotions that can help offset some of the cost.

Also, coming up on the holiday season, you may find some pretty fantastic deals on new phones. I would encourage you to check daily, via My Verizon Mobile, as promotions can be for 2-3 days, and you don't want to miss out on the best deal that may work for you. You can also stay posted online at www.vzw.com

I hope this information is helpful.

We do work for Verizon and are full Verizon support here. Verizon does not make any of the popular new devices, and Samsung, LG, Apple, Motorola and many other manufactures let us sell their devices for our service directly in a Verizon location. Verizon gives you the option to get these devices with a 24 month agreement. You can review prices and compare prices of devices directly online at, VZW.com and compare it with the manufacturer prices. You can also see the prices will match with other providers and the price is handled by the manufacturer of the device. Any promotion presented with Verizon is a discount Verizon is giving you directly. Let us know if you have any questions.
