I saw that someone asked when the iphone 8 would be announced. I tried to comment in that thread, but it is locked. Also the link in "the answer" doesn't have this info:

It has been reported in Forbes, CNet, and various other publications have reported that the iPhone 8 will be announced on Sept 12th.
