Left my iPhone on the hood of my car and drove off. Have "Find my Phone" app on, but it says my phone is offline. (Maybe I ran over it???) It was out in a rural area on a gravel road--maybe no cell tower near?? Anyway, I've read my wireless provider can possibly locate it with the IMEI number which I have. Where do I go from here? I got nowhere using the "chat" feature on Verizon site.
Verizon can't do that. They'll tell you to try Find My iPhone after waiting on hold for an hour.

Find My iPhone is a fantastic resource, and like any other option would require the device to be on, functioning, and connected to a network.
