my daughter received strange phone call and texts.

My 22 year old daughter, who has an iPhone 8, received a phone call last night from her own phone number. She answered it and was told it was call from Verizon and to press "1." She at the same time received a text from Verizon with a authorization code for a "sign in request." The man on the phone asked her for the code, She said "What is this about?" He said, "I will tell you after you give me the code." She said, "No, it says Verizon will never contact you for this code." He hung up on her. She then received a second "authorization code for sign in request." She is fudging. But the Verizon family account is in my name, I don't even think she knows the password. What, if anything should I do? I've been keeping my eye on the Verizon account and everything -- including her phone and its usage seems normal. Any advice or tips would be appreciated.

A phone call such as that one would alarm me as well.  We ask that when you receive a call like this, you don't share any account information. Scammers are getting more sophisticated by the day, and they are looking to defraud unsuspecting customers. Also, we recommend that you change your online password and account PIN as security measures. This first link will have the steps to change your account PIN (refer to item 4): http://spr.ly/6181EwSMD.  This link will have the steps to change the password: http://spr.ly/6182EwSME. Lastly, if you ever become a victim of fraud, here is a link you can use to report it and start a claim, see here http://vz.to/2nvOWhu. Does that help?
