10 dropped calls and pixelating today

Trying to talk to my husband today (also on Verizon cell). Dropped the call 6 times within a 20 minute time frame, then again 4 times within 10 minutes. That doesn't count the 3 times that the sound dropped out on him in the middle of a call. Now he says my voice is pixelating when we talk. I'm about 30 seconds away from cancelling my service completely. We have had nothing but trouble for the past year with dropped calls, abysmal service, horrible connections. This is the only phone I have, which I use for personal and business, and it is just not working. I even went so far as to upgrade my phone because one of the guys in the Verizon store told me that might fix the connection issues.
