Like many others on this site, I am receiving spam texts from porn sites since purchasing my new iPhone. I've checked the boxes on the website and still receive them. Verizon's tech support people have not been able to provide a solution. The last chat suggested that I send a screenshot to 7728 which was a complete waste of time because the bot kept asking for a phone number. These are emails with at least 20 people included on each one. I also attempted to go to a Verizon store which was a waste of time and gasoline. The young man told me that he had no idea how to help and that I was not the first customer to come to the store asking for help. I've noticed that since I started to report this that Verizon is now charging customers to stop this very thing. So my question is this -- why would you charge your customers money for something that you cannot fix? I am furious.
I apologize for the experience as we want to offer you the best available solutions. What steps did you take to attempt to block the messages?
When Verizon responds asking for a number I send the gmail address back to them again even though they should see it in the screenshot. I also block the email account when I get the text. Im not paying extra or changing my number if they don’t stop I will change carriers. Guess Verizon doesn’t care much about loyalty as I am a long time Verizon customer
BigAl52, your loyalty means the world to us. The last thing we would ever want is for you to leave us. As consumers, we know how inconvenient it is for you to receive text messages from email addresses. We want to help you add the necessary blocks to stop these text messages.
Please log in to your My Verizon account and follow these steps.
Click on Account > My Plan > Blocks.
Does this information help? JacobG_VZW
Nope been there done that. The feature you offer block all texts from email accounts doesnt work. It will not stay checked. That suggestion has also been tried before by many other support people and the same result has been reported by other people that have tried it. If you offer the feature why does it not work?
I am having this same problem! Text messages that pertain to porn from email addresses and each text is sent as a group text to 20 other people. I have logged into my Verizon account and checked the box to block texts from emails, but I am still getting them! The block doesn’t work!!! Why offer it as a solution if it doesn’t work? I think there needs to be a class action lawsuit against Verizon for this major inconvenience! None of us should have to change our phone numbers because Verizon somehow leaked our numbers to some kind of spam company. This is ridiculous! DO BETTER VERIZON!!!
I apologize for any inconvenience. Our IT Team has isolated the root of this and we are working to get this resolved as soon as possible.
