Did anyone else get an email from Apple saying that an iPhone has been "reserved for you" and that they will be sending you another email to confirm payment and shipping details after they are able to "reach the carrier systems"? Has anyone talked to Verizon or Apple or know what this means? Do I have need to take any further actions to move this along? Also, do you think that I would get the phone faster if I tried to purchase it directly from Verizon today and just ignore the confirmation email when it eventually comes?

I didn't get that email. My Apple order took a few seconds to verify my Verizon account but it went through at the time. That was about 20 minutes after ordering was allowed. My order shows as ready on my Apple Store account now.

I had the same thing happen to me. For some reason, when it was time to enter my phone number, zip code and last 4of my SSN, it kept failing and I eventually got locked out. When I used my wife’s info (we have a family plan), it seemed to authorize but then I got the message and my order being reserved.
A few hours later, I got the reservation email and now, every time I check the status of it, I get the same message that Apple will email me once they’re able to connect the carrier. No indication about whether it’ll honor the 11/3 delivery date, which is what I was quoted when I first placed the order. I’m attaching a screenshot of what the reservation page looks like. Every time I attempt to call Apple support, I get disconnected because they’re too slammed with calls.

I’m in the same boat as you. I’m hoping they honor the 11/3 date.

Dang. As busy as Verizon and Apple is I would hope they would respond. Mine hung for about 10 seconds but then it went through as they hooked with Verizon. Good luck. I would hate to lose the Nov 3 delivery.

brianmatiash That's exactly what I got, too. Do you think Verizon would know the details of this if I called them? Are you planning to just wait it out and see what happens or are you going to try ordering some other way?

WURT2388 I genuinely don't believe that Verizon will have any insight into this. This is going to be with Apple all the way. Ideally, either one of us could reach out to someone in their sales support to iron out what's going on and inform the thread but for now, I think it's a waiting game. I feel good about the reservation holding our spaces for an 11/3 delivery but I am just not sure how long it'll be in effect for. That's why I'm so eager to contact Apple.

Can’t even get through to Apple. It says due to high call volume we cannot
take your call this time and hangs up
