Is Verizon making it up for the black friday shortages of iphone X's

I have called and they just tell me to look out for more to come in (at full price). I also spent time at my verizon store on black friday and was told to wait for a new shipment to never come. At the time of the sale they didn't mention shortages of this device until it became "unavailable".
