Lost Connectivity

I am traveling abroad and my iPhone X has stopped pairing emails and connecting to the internet.  WiFi is fine. Secondary iPhone X is working fine.  How do I reset the phone?  Turning it off has not worked.

Try resetting network settings via: Settings > General > Reset > Reset Network Settings. This may wipe out saved Wi-Fi networks but you can easily set them back up.

Was your phone working at any time after arriving in another country when not connected to Wi-Fi? Do you recall having a temporary international plan set up for the line of service before leaving?
