Got a new iphone Xs and Verizon service. After a week started getting notices from friends that my voicemail wasn't set up. Verizon's web-based advice is to use *86- but that takes me to a loop that doesn't solve the problem. Seems to be for people who HAVE voicemail on their phone but just need to set up a greeting or something.
The point is, I have no voicemail. When I search voicemail for custom vs. default greeting, the SAVE button on top right is grayed out.
You can't get through to a person on Verizon, as usual. Terminal hold. Any suggestions? Can't spend my days waiting for customer service to pick up.
Follow the instructions and if you have issues call customer service at 1-800-922-0204 from a landline or another phone.
