Poor Service Everywhere on iPhone XR
SabresFanMom1124

Ever since I purchased my iPhone XR, my Verizon reception has been horrible no matter where I am. Home, work, in the car.....I barely have 2 bars if I'm lucky. I live in a suburb of Buffalo, NY so I cannot imagine there aren't enough towers, plus I never had this issue before so I'm scratching my head wondering what is happening. I need a reliable service! Are there any settings on the phone that I can be checking that have anything to do with my reception? I just don't get it.

SabresFanMom1124, I understand the reception on your iPhone XR is poor, and this is certainly not the wireless experience we want for you! We know how important it is to stay connected and we want to help ensure we come to a resolution to your service issues. To ensure I have all the details, are text messages/data affected, as well? What do you hear while speaking on the phone (static, echo, etc)? Is HD Voice is currently on or off? You can check by using the steps here: https://www.verizon.com/support/knowledge-base-206700/

The problem is the XR antenna configuration. A Google search will show others have poor connectivity problems. It's the phone.

Yes, it is often affecting text messages in that I get "failed to send" errors very often. I don't seem to be able to check email or browse the web either. My phone always shows just one bar for the signal strength so if I can't get on Wifi, the phone is pretty useless. I occasionally hear an echo on phone calls, and now that I just got a new vehicle, the quality of the calls over bluetooth are terrible. I cannot hear the person on the other end, and they hear like a high-pitched whistling noise on their end.

We appreciate those details. We definitely want to get  to the root of the problem. You definitely can try resetting your phone's network settings. Keep in mind this will also clear saved WiFi and Bluetooth connections. This option can be found under Settings > General > Reset > Reset Network Settings. Do you have a case on your phone? If so, what kind? Also, do you know if your device is up to date on the iOS? Has the issue seemed to worsen after any update? You can check the iOS under Settings > General > Software Update.
