How do I prevent double-billing when I stop combined billing (bundling) with my broadband provider?

So I was combining my Centurylink broadband and Verizon wireless bills until last month, at which time I separated the accounts.

This month, I got a normal bill from Verizon, due in the middle of July.

This month I also got a bill from Centurylink with around $100 in Verizon wireless charges on it.  Those charges are supposedly from April.  Verizon shows I've made a full payment every month for years, so that's interesting.

What am I supposed to do when these companies aren't communicating and I'm being asked to pay them both for the same service?
