Enthusiast - Level 1

My services were disconnected due to non payment. I was told I had 60 days to pay past due balance to have service restored. The following week I received a letter from Convergent stating that my Verizon account has been sent to their office (outside collections). I spoke with rep from Convergent who set up an arrangement for the past due balance to be paid well before by 60 day limit (turns out it was 50 days and not 60). Spoke to supervisor in the Finance department who advised the entire account balance had to be paid in full, including early termination fees and remaining balance due on the phones themselves, before service could be restored. She stated that this came from "corporate office" and that was the rule and it could not be bypassed. Verizon is not willing to work with their customers to prevent services from being terminated or willing to work with their customers to have service restored. They are willing to cross sale you anything and everything anytime you call.  I'm disappointed in the customer service department and the Finance department.
