I am traveling to Tahiti. Can I text from there with incurring charges?

Hi!

I will be traveling to Tahitit. I have  unlimited texting and calling internatinally to Mexico and Canada. However I do not have an international plan beyond that. Does this mean Verizon will charge international rates for texting from Tahiti or wifi calling?
