Hi,
Curious if you can help me out. I have verizon Fios TV + Net + 1 landline. There are four outlets in the house, 2 on first floor, and 2 on 2nd floor. A few days ago Verizon came by to upgrade my net speed to 300/300 from 100/100. In order to do that they had to connect a cat 5 cable into my Verizon Router along with the existing Coax connection. Everything went well except that there now is a problem with the landline. The 2 outlets on the first floor work fine, but the 2 outlets on the second floor do not work (no dial tone). I went to the ONT box to check and see if any of the telephone wires (that run into the house) were loose but they were all connected to the block. I did notice something strange. I only have one landline but the POTS L1 and L2 on the ONT are connected. L1 is wired to the block on the left side (the side w the red/green tab), and L2 is wired to the block on the right side (the one w the black/yellow color tab). Since I only have one telephone line, why are there two POTS connection on the ONT? The wire that runs into my house behind the wall has 6 wires side (I was told by the tech that is a cat 5???) The wire that runs out from the wall is connected to the block. One pair (blue and white) is connected to the red/green color clip on the block, and another pair (orange and orangewhite(?)) is connected to the black/yellow color clip.
I want to see if I can fix it myself before calling verizon.
Thanks.
