Network Extender? Only if you pay through the teeth!

Enthusiast - Level 2

I live in a large busy city. According to Verizon I am in an area with complete 3G coverage. When they break it down on the map for my exact address I am between "Best" and "Good" coverage area. Yet if I am at home I cannot make or receive a cell call without call dropping. And don't even try to text from my home, it just won't work.  I can set my cell down on my desk and not touch it for hours, yet it constantly goes in and out of service area according to the phone.

After 4 calls to Verizon about this issue, they finally sent me to tech support for a trouble ticket.  4 days and 4 calls later they inform me that if I want to use my cell phone at home (a service I already am paying for) I need to spend $249 to BUY a network extender! This extender needs to be hooked to MY internet (at my own expense for cost of internet also) to improve the signal to my cell phone.

The poor little guy "Can you hear me now" , would probably be ashamed of how these technical issues are handled. Yes!! I can hear you now !! You are telling me to pull out my wallet and pay you even more money to get the service I am already paying through the teeth for!!

I find it hard to believe that a company that has a billion dollars in revenue a year can survive being this ungrateful to the customers that are making that revenue for them.

If you are reading this to get some idea of whether to use Verizon as your cell service or not.. I would suggest you get a "trial" account with them and make sure you get complete service at home / work / the commute to and from.  If you don't get the service you would be paying for, go to another company. A mistake I will be rectifying as soon as my contract is up!
