Dishonest $700 Promo

In March 2022, a Verizon agent (Daisy) via a messaging app offered me $700 trade in value for my iPhone 6s on the condition that I upgrade to the 5G Unlimited Start plan.  My family line (4 lines) upgraded to unlimited and I sent my phone in.  After realizing that I was not credited for my trade in I called Verizon on April 21.  They told me that the agent was mistaken, the best they could do was offer $350, and since 30 days had elapsed I could not return the phone.  Do not trust the promos they offer you.  They use them to induce you into an upgrade and then will not honor their word. Buyer beware.

Update: After 2 hours on the phone Verizon made it right and rectified the situation.  Although the agent made a mistake, Verizon honored their word and gave me a total $700 credit.  We will remain loyal customers

I experienced this with 2 offers for "loyalty discounts" received via text. I harassed them until they gave me the promised discount the first time and the 2nd time, the CSR couldn't find the discount but found a way to add it for me with a workaround. But yes it's a ploy to get us on the more expensive plan. If you have the text message still, save it and call them back again until they honor it. You will eventually find a kind CSA who will help you out (I think!). Good luck!

sorry for the dupe. won't let me delete.

ugh it erased my whole message, but briefly, if you still have the message that offered you this deal, then call them back until you get a good CSA. Give em your story and someone will help you out I think. Worked for me for the not-quite-existent "loyalty discounts" offered via text. Good luck!
