the iPhone 5 might ship for some on the 21st. My question is, is it only possible for pre orders placed on Apple's site to ship earlier? Or say if I preordered here (Verizon's Website), would it be possible for the device to come earlier?
It depends on what time you actually ordered it on the 14th.
Very good question! I woke up and ordered mine from the Verizon site at 2:01AM CST on Friday 9-14. They confirmation email states Deliver by 9-21 but several of the Verizon reps tell me that it will be shipped on the 21st not delivered. The others tell me they don't know when it will be shipped or delivered. Really frustrating that they don't know what's going on plus the fact that I can just go to the local Verizon store and pick one up on the 21st.. Does anyone have any information or advice? This is really frustrating..
Verizon reps don't know anything trust me I have pre ordered from them for the iPhone 4, 4S and 5 your phone will be shipped on the 19th-20th with 2day or overnight shippping depending on where you live.
