I found an iPhone 4 on the ground about a year ago and since I couldn't get in to find the owner and return it, I restored it. I have a plan with T Mobile and I was wondering if there was any way to transfer my plan onto this Verizon iPhone? I can't change the phone number or anything and I can't create a new account with Verizon since the previous person did... I'm unsure of how to go about this?

Is the phone Activation Locked by the previous owner? If so then I don't think you can do anything with it. Did you try contacting Apple and giving them the IMEI number on the back? They may be able to find the owner for you.

How about turning it over to the local authorities or maybe even returning it to VZW. After all, wouldn't that be the right thing to do?

The iPhone 4 for Verizon, was a 3G phone and doesn't have a SIM slot for t-Mobile. You will not be able to use it. Nice try.
