Been a longtime VZ customer and recently purchased two new phones. Why am I being charged a one time fee of $40 for each phone? I could see it if I was a brand new customer. Tried to call customer service and was on hold for over 15 minutes and finally talked to Bianca who told me they never reverse the fee. I’m growing weary of all the issues I have with VZ. I remember when service was awesome and I wasn’t charged to this extent.
This fee has been around for years.
It is an upgrade fee. It cost $40 in store or $20 online at www.verizonwireless.com. The fee is applied to all upgrades no matter if the purchase was made with the device payment agreement or the full retail price.
Verizon Wireless has had an upgrade fee since April 2012. The amount of fee has changed and which purchases the fee has been applied has changed since that date. The current upgrade rate has in place for at least a year now perhaps longer.
I'm most definitely NOT a VZW employee. If a post answered your question, please mark it as the answer.
