I have restored an iPhone 6 from recovery mode to use as a WiFi-only device. It's saying I have to activate the phone in order to proceed. Can I use my SIM from my iPhone 7 to activate the device (just to get passed the activation screen), and then put the SIM back into my 7 without any issues? If not, is there any other recourse for this issue?
That is a great question! Activating your phone is a pretty simple process. With regards to using the sim from your iPhone 7 you can use the sim card and activate it if needed. This will bypass the activation process for you to use the device. Does it give you the option to skip past the activation part at all?

It does not give the option to skip/bypass the activation. It says "SIM Required, Please insert a SIM card".
My main concern was that moving the SIM from device-to-device was going to confuse the network, and I didn't want Verizon to think I was switching back to the iPhone 6 as my daily phone.
Thanks for your reply!
Thanks for getting back to us Uneronumo. I can understand that concern, Once your past the activation and you return the Sim card to the old device you should have no issues. The system will recognize the iPhone 7.
