Activated my new phone a couple of hours ago and am not able to use it for making calls or texting. I'm a new customer and requested my old number to be transferred to the new phone. What am I doing wrong?

Did you receive a free Verizon Wireless text message stating your port in has been completed? Is your old phone turned off? Please share details.
