Can't text my husband

My husband and I have IPhone 6, he can text me and I receive it but when I text back he doesn't receive it. We're on the same plan

Help has arrived! What zip code are you located in? Do you get any error messages when sending him a text message? Is your iMessage feature disabled? To check go to Settings>Messaging>iMessage. When did this issue begin?

Did he previously have a non iPhone?  Is SMS turned on in your message settings?
