Cannot receive short code sms

I cannot receive short code sms from capital one. I called them they said the problem is with Verizon. I called Verizon they say the problem is with capital one. I recently switched to Verizon and it worked fine with my other carrier. In fact it is currently working fine when I use google voice. So I know the issue is with Verizon but the tech support lady I called could not help me. The number for the short code is 227898. I am able to receive other short code sms from other companies. Please help.
