I have the iPhone 4s with Verizon. My first "smartphone" and I am still getting used to data usage. My question is, "Do I incur data usage fees if I am connected to Wi-Fi?
Will be traveling to Mexico and want to have access to email, but, don't want to incur the international data usage fees. If I connect to the Wi-Fi in the hotel, will I incur the data usage fees?
Thanks for the feedback.

The airplane mode will prevent any phone calls or cellular data transfer.
I'm most definitely NOT a VZW employee. If a post answered your question, please mark it as the answer.

Can you turn on airplane mode and turn on wifi to access data that way?

And just to make it clear: if you are on Wifi, there are no data fees from Verizon (the Wifi supplier may charge you for access, but generally those fees are reasonable.) Verizon (or any other wireless carrier) don't get to "see" the Wifi usage and so do not bill it! Ann154's suggestion will prevent unexpected usage when you are not connected to Wifi, such as background updates when you don't think you are using the phone
