I have a iPhone 5s and I go over in data every month almost everyone else on my plan stays way under, they use android phones and I've gone through every process of fixing this from going to stores over the phone with support problem still not fixed not only that I pay 256 dollars a month for you guys and this is how I'm treated I never had this issue with my droid razor my phone is up on October I've been with yall for 5 years now and I can say that I'm done with yall this is the most ridiculous thing I've ever experienced and I will be have my fathers company who uses yall to pull off the contract aswell because we have the same problem with there iPhones aswell but ones who use android is fine the only response we get from yall is upgrade upgrade, well we shouldn't have to upgrade because the ones with 4g android phones don't have this problem yall should pull your heads out of your asses and fix this, yall lost our business!
You have options to reduce the data useage.
1) turn off the data when your not using it.
2) find out what apps are using the data and turn off the data to thiose apps if you dont want it used.
I've done that but you shouldn't have to turn off data on your phone these problems only happen with the iPhone's, not trying to be rude but I did state that I went over every option, that includes verizon tecs and apples, there's been article in New York times about the issue with iphone 5 eating data with verizon
