Callers to my VM hear the Verizon VM instructions, and I want to eliminate those instructions. How do I do that? (I have created a custom greeting, but the Verizon instructions follow my custom greeting.)
I am a new Verizon customer, formerly with ATT. I am using an iPhone 6s Plus.

Thanks for answering my question. I tried your instructions but I am offered only the options to change the language, change my password, or change my greeting. I am not offered the option to select voice mailbox greeting instructions; therefore I am unable to opt out of hearing the instructions after greeting.
Can you think of anything else that I could try?
Thanks.

You might try a third party email app like You Mail or Google voicemail - they allow you to record a greeting and that;s all that is heard, no "At the tone, please record your message...." and other instructions.

Mutt4me, getting that voicemail working properly will certainly save your callers a great deal of time. Let's work together to make that happen. Please ensure that Wi-Fi is off and in Settings, the Cellular Data is on. Once this is complete, please follow these steps:
Press the phone button like you are placing a call.
Tap Voicemail
Tap Set Up Now
Enter a password and tap Done
Re-enter to confirm
Tap Custom to create a greeting
Tap Record to begin
Tap Stop when complete
Tap Save.
Now you will have your iPhone Visual Voicemail set to go and on our network to ensure no more extended message for your callers.

Thanks for your response, but my phone is an iPhone 6s Plus, and my understanding is that it is impossible to delete the Verizon VM instructions on iPhones. (Still, I tried your instructions, but after I tap Voicemail, I do not see Set Up Now. Given that, I think the Verizon support staff is correct when they told me Verizon VM instructions cannot be bypassed by callers to my iPhone.) This is frustrating to me and to people who call me, as we have known how to leave voicemails since we were toddlers.

Yes you CAN get rid of ALL the voice mail instructions, but it takes some time. It is best to do this from a landline phone.
Call your cell number & get into your voicemail by hitting # & then your passcode number. Then follow the prompts to change administrative options. I believe it is option 7, but will take a bit of trial & error. It helps to have your cell phone turned off so you can test your changes till you get it right. Took me a good half hour to get everything just right. Now when someone calls my phone, all they hear is "This is ___, please leave a message, BEEP"
Once you have mastered this you can make messages faster & easier to check on your phone by eliminating password entry & all envelope info. This is done on the phone itself, but that takes some time too.

Is your phone an iPhone? I ask, because when I first switched to Verizon from AT&T, the instructions I was given were similar to yours. And I tried them. I had high hopes for success, as the procedure was similar to AT&T’s (i.e. get to administrative options in order to stop the VM instructions). However, I am never offered the option to go to administrative options (please see my earlier posts); I can change my greeting, password, and language—that is it.
I believe your instructions will work for other phones, but not iPhones. I would be thrilled to be proven wrong. So, do tell: do you have an iPhone?

I use Android phones. The changes are made with Verizon's internal voice mail system & it shouldn't matter what kind of phone you have.
These changes can be performed & tested 100% with a landline phone, so the phone type never enters into the equation.

mutt4me, if I understand correctly you're trying to change or delete Verizon's automated voicemail instructions?
Is anything in this link of any help with that?
