Deleting everything from iphone

I have to send my screwed up iPhone back to Verizon!

How do I delete all personal stuff off phone without having to delete my Apple ID?

We want to make sure that we get this taken care of without losing any of your irreplaceable information. If you follow the steps to do a factory reset on your phone, it will erase everything from the phone itself but it will not erase your Apple ID or any of the associated information from the Apple servers, which means it will be available when you get your new iPhone.
