Dropped call when using speakerphone and keypad

I just got a new iphone 11 and already having issues.  Whenever I use the keypad for calls, it drops the calls.  That is just insane.  So I am unable to call businesses and medical places because I can't navigate through their systems.  What is up, Verizon?  I did not have this issue with my old iphone 6 which is supposedly substandard to this 11.  : /

Does anyone have any advice?  Yes I turned my phone on and off.  Thanks!
