Horrible phone reception with SE

A few months ago I switched from a 5s to an SE.  My reception is horrible in the same places it used to be good.  I have to say "hello" 4-5 times before the caller hears me.  Although I can hear the caller, the can often not hear me.  It cuts in and out.  The phone is becoming useless to me as a PHONE.  Data is fine, but I need to be able to use the phone.
