If this is the case why was a friend able,to,call his carrier to successfully get the time for a call going over to voicemail increased? Of course he is not a Verizon customer but his carrier, AT&T was able to give him an alpha numeric code to dial, which returned a number to be inserted into a second alpha numeric code to dial which allowed him to change the time it takes for his calls to roll over to voicemail. Why can't Verizon provide such dial code to their customer?
I don't want you missing out on messages, ANIHUG79. Weth was correct mentioning that voice mail should be kicking in after 30 seconds of ringing to allow you the opportunity to answer a call. Are your callers hearing more than 30 seconds?

I understand that it takes 30 seconds for Voice Mail to answer. 30 seconds is quite a long time...6 rings (on the caller's end) to be exact. Many people hang up after 3 & 4 rings.
Other carriers allow a person to choose the amount of rings before Voice Mail answers. It would be nice if Verizon would allow a feature to shorten the ring time also.
