How to switch from active Verizon physical SIM to eSim ( on existing iphone11)?

I have an iPhone11 with physical SIM (from Verizon) - I want to replace that SIM by using the same phone number with an eSIM.

Can I do it myself or do I need to visit a store? What is the process?
