I am a government employee & I just signed up with Verizon yesterday, how do I receive the $100 discount off the phone with code"VZWDEAL"

I was wondering how do I receive the $100 credit off the phone using code "VZWDEAL"  I asked the store associate when signing up and she said I need to be a part of a "business group" but when I went to order online I was able to take advantage of the discount.  Do I need to cancel my order and go back to the store and return the phone and then do the order online?
