I am traveling to Australia. On the way, in airports, can I use my iphone to use fb messaging or email to communicate with people at my destination? Do I need an international data plan?

I am traveling to Australia.  On the way, in airports, can I use my iphone to use fb messaging or email to communicate with people at my destination?  Do I need an international data plan?

You want to call and get the internation data plan.  its 25 dollars for 100 mb.  if you dont buy that plan it is like 20.43 per MB.  Very expesnive.  You have the option to just turn cellular data off and only use wifi.  if you dont buy the global data poackage your going to want to do that because your phone will use data even if your not doing naything.  That 25 dollar data package works for most countrys

If you have access to wifi, you can certainly do those things without an international data plan.
